SPRING FLOWERS AND MOJO MONDAY

Hello All!  It's Monday again and another great sketch for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  This week, I decided to go with the Butterfly Bundle (stamps and thinlets).  These will be available again on April 8 for those of you who have them on backorder.  I don't use purple (Wisteria Wonder) very often. I surprised myself when I reached for a green to pair it with.  I decided on a subtle green,  Pistachio Pudding, and I think the color combo worked well.

I decided to add the leaf (stamped on the white cardstock) to give it balance.  Then I added another fussy-cut leaf to add balance to the flower.  I stamped a butterfly under the big thinlit butterfly just to add more color and more balance. It's hard to see, but it's there.

Here's the whole card - and sometimes there's just no room for a sentiment.  I put it on the inside instead. I love the sentiment that comes with this stamp set.  It says "There is nothing in the caterpillar that tells you it is going to be a butterfly."   I really hope they continue this set in the 2015-2016 catalog.

This is the original Mojo Monday sketch #392 that I based my card on:
I made two cards today. Guess I really got my mojo on.  This card was a blast to make.  I love coloring on vellum.  I embossed this beautiful corner garden stamp with white embossing powder and colored the back of the vellum with Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, and Crushed Curry markers.  I added some brown to the flower's centers (with Baked Brown Sugar) and colored the leaves with Pistachio Pudding.  I backed the vellum piece with white cardstock. This is one of the cards we'll be doing at my next card class on April 11:

You'll be proud of me. There is absolutely NO fussy-cutting on this card.

Enjoy and go get crafty!

  2. You know, I went back to look at them and realized they both had butterflies, which is fitting, because now I'm realizing that I REALLY love both of them!! TFS!
