FIFTIES ICE CREAM PARLOR AND GIVEAWAY - Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to another Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop!  I had so much fun working on this month's project, an Ice Cream Parlor!  I decided to use a 1950's theme for my Parlor and called it the "Sweet Shoppe".

Here's a closer view of the "Sweet Shoppe".  This was made with only cardstock (Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Black, and White).  I  used a doily (sponged with Pink Pirouette) for the curtains, and window sheet for the windows.  I created the checkerboard using 1/2 inch squares of Basic Black cardstock.  I used my trusty Silhouette to make the "Sweet Shoppe" sign.  The sign pulls up to reveal a storage area for three or four cards.

I found making the cards was more challenging than the Ice Cream Parlor!  Trying to get a "retro" look with the Sprinkles of Life Stamp set was difficult, but I hope I captured it.  Here are the cards to match the parlor.

I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the ice cream on each card - here's a close-up:

GIVEAWAY:

For a chance to win a FREE pattern for the Ice Cream Parlor (includes a video tutorial), enter a comment answering the following question:   What kind of ice cream do you love and when's the last time you ate it?  Leave a comment on each blog for 4 chances to win!  One winner (random) from each blog will be announced here on August 10.   For those of you wishing to purchase the tutorial right way, you can do so at Liz Holloway's blog HERE.  She is definitely the best 3-D designer ever!

  1. The fifties theme and colors are perfect for this template. Love your take on the ice cream shoppe. My favorite flavor of ice cream is coffee chip. I think the last time I had some was on June.
