I saw a card by Carol Reid using the Faux Embossing technique and wanted to share the technique with you. When I first saw it, I was convinced it was a die cut the same color as the card stock. Boy was I wrong. The "Hello" is stamped directly onto the card. So how did I stamp the "hello" to look raised (or embossed)?

It's actually quite easy.  All you need is a stamp-a-ma-jig or a Misti. Since I have a hard time remembering how to use the stamp-a-ma-jig (and almost always have to ask my dear friend Vicki how to do it), I used my trusty Misti.
1.  Place the card on my Misti and use the magnets to hold it in place. Then place the stamp where you want it to stamp on your card.
2.  Ink your stamp with Whisper White craft ink.  Stamp the card and make sure you let it dry. I'm impatient, so I used my heat gun to help set the ink faster.
3. Clean your stamp (right where it is - don't move it!) Then, ink your stamp with the same color as the card stock. Move the card ever so slightly. Seriously, move it a "hair" and no more.
4. Stamp the card again on top of the white ink.

And there you have it.  That's all there is to it. I used the stamp sets "Hello", "Petite Petals" and "Flower Shop".  The flowers were punched out using the Pansy and Petite Petals punches. The ribbon is the 1/8" stitched Bermuda Day ribbon.  The paper is from the Designer Series Paper Stack.

This is a card we're making at my Stamp Camp this Saturday. Let me know if you can make it!

And here's a "bonus" Easter card today. It's also a quickie card. I love this little chick and the daffodil delight/black combo. I stamped the chick in Basic Black ink on Daffodil Delight card stock and fussy-cut it out. I added a few little flowers (see this flower technique on my March 5 post). Add a doily and Whisper White ribbon, and backed the chick with a scallop circle punch and a 2" circle of Daffodil Delight. Place on a doily and bam - done.  I backed the card with the Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper Stack paper and white & black card stocks. I ran 1/2 of the card through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

Hope you liked today's cards.  I would love to hear your thoughts!
