CREATIVE CIRCLE DESIGN TEAM - Sara D. Signature Purse Blog Hop

Welcome to the Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop for July. This month, we were challenged to make the Sara D. Purse and a matching card. I made two purses - one dressy clutch and one beachy, more traditional purse.

I turned my Sara D. into a dressy clutch purse by adding an extra front to the purse. There are a lot of weddings and wedding showers in the summer months and this makes a perfect gift box for the bride-to-be. My dear friend's daughter is getting married in August and I needed something more elegant. The purse will hold the lingerie I purchased for her. I plan to wrap the lingerie in white or gold decorated tissue paper and tuck it inside the purse. How fun it will be to give her this purse and card at the bridal shower!

The purse strap is the Sequin Trim in gold. The beautiful paper is from the "Pop of Pink" Specialty Designer Paper. The flower is die cut from the Botanical Builder Framelits. The edges of the flower are embossed with gold embossing powder. I simply stuck the ends of the flower into my Versamark pad, sprinkled with the embossing powder, and voila. I added a pop of color by die cutting the small flower in Sweet Sugarplum and the centers in Rich Razzleberry and Gold Foil. The strip across the front of the purse is also cut from Gold Foil.

Here's the matching card to go with the Sara D.  I kept the card pretty simple since the purse is so dressy. The sentiment "Marriage is a Journey" is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

Here's the completed gift!

Here's the beachy purse I also completed for this hop. I used Seaside Shore to decorate this purse, much the same way as the Sampler and matching card I made a few weeks ago.  In case you missed the sampler, you can see it HERE

I inked everything with Dapper Denim. I used the fine tip glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter to make it sparkle, although it doesn't show up well in the picture. The purse straps are the new 5/8" Burlap Ribbon.

Here's the purse with the card I made a few weeks ago. Another gift set for summer ready to go!

In case you're wondering how this purse got it's name, it stands for Sara Douglass - the CEO of Stampin' Up! Here's a picture of Sara and Shellie (former CEO and Sara's Mom), and Liz Holloway at Onstage 2016 with the purses she designed for them. So exciting! Even better, Liz mailed me my own Sara D with surprise gifts inside.

Now let's go see what awesome creation Liz has for us!
