This is the first of many long posts this week! I have had the best time the last few days in Atlanta attending Brian King's World Card Making Day Event and the Stampin' Up! Onstage Event.

Whew! Where to start. Brian King's event on Friday was spectacular. Since the Atlanta Onstage event was only a month away from World Card Making Day (Oct.1), Brian decided to combine the two events.  It was a day filled with prizes, presentations, games, card and 3D swapping, and make-n'-takes. Absolute pig heaven for a stamper. Presenters included Brian, Linda Heller, Kimberly Van Deipen, Susan Nygaard, Shawn deOliveira, Mary Fish, Candy Ford and Lynn Kolcun. They shared techniques and tips on creating beautiful cards. I learned a lot and will be sharing these tips with my team, Club members, and, of course, my Customers.

I made 51 cards for their swap. To be sure most folks would like my card, I chose my most popular card on Pinterest (over 3,000 pins). Remember this one?

And yes, I fussy cut all 8 elements 51 times. That's 153 fish, 102 seaweed, and 153 shells...little, tiny shells. About half way through the fussy cutting, I kicked myself several times for picking this card. Once the fussy cutting was done, I sponged the edges of every single one, and added the glue and dazzling diamonds glitter. It took me a few weeks, but I got them done in time. Take a look at my assembly line:

I used my Misty for the sentiment and that went a lot faster. I was so happy that everyone seemed to love it. If you missed my original post and 12" x 12" Sampler using this set, you can see it HERE.

I also participated in a 3D swap. I made an Apron Box filled with miniature cookie cutters. I will be doing a full post of this box with the directions and how-to video on Thursday, so stay tuned!  Here's a quick picture of it:
And I can't wait to show you the 3D I got in return from Cindy Brumbaugh! But that deserves a post all on it's own. Stay tuned!

Here's a few pictures from Brian's event:

The presenters were absolutely amazing and included: Linda Heller, Kimberly Van Diepen, Susan Nygaard, Shawn deOliveira, Candy Ford and Lynn Kolcun. Here's Kimberly and Linda presenting:

Woohoo! What a great day!

I'll be sharing all of the swap cards as soon as I can get them photographed. In the meantime, here's some pictures of a few other 3D creations that caught my eye:

That's it for today. Tomorrow I will be posting about Onstage. Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Stamping,

  1. OH WOW! How exciting that you were at Brian King's World Card Making Day Event in Atlanta! I've been a faithful follower of his for about 3 years or so! Love him and his cards! I'm so glad you had a GREAT time and enjoyed all the events! Awesome! :)

BTW, I remember that card! I'm sure everyone who received your card during swaps just loved it! Talk about LABOR INTENSIVE for a "swap card"! Oh, and I LOVE your 3-D Apron project!

    1. Thanks Tonya - it was quite the awesome day! I'll be posting the directions for the 3D Apron Box on Thursday...and a video if I'm brave enough to post it! lol

  2. We happen to meet a great people there and started to chat with them and drink w/them too. I had a great time here, glad we found these San Francisco venues. Will definitely come to this place again as anyone will make this a regular spot easily.
