Welcome to May's Creative Circle Design Team Hop!  This month Liz developed the pattern for this absolutely adorable baby cradle. I reduced the pattern for the cradle, and used the side rails of the cradle to make a matching playpen.

This project was so much fun (and gave me a bad case of baby envy)! I have seven grandchildren, and don't expect any more (sigh). I'll just have to live vicariously through my best friend,Vickie, who just became a Grandma for the first time. And he's so adorable! In fact, he's just as cute as this little baby in the cradle.

I used the "Moon Baby" stamp set and the Designer Series Paper Stack in Soft Sky. The cradle and playpen were cut with the Silhouette and stamped with the Hardwood stamp (which is retiring - boo!) If  you don't have one, get it now before it's gone forever!

I used Sahara Sand ink to stamp the woodgrain onto the pattern pieces. The playpen was made from the side rails on the cradle, which I altered slightly from Liz' original pattern.

Here's the project detail pictures. Yes, I fussy cut the babies and stuffed animals. But too cute, yes?

I cut away the moon attached to this adorable sleeping baby and propped him up underneath the covers. The pillow is simply a folded over piece of paper:

As babies don't sleep ALL the time (sigh), I cut one having fun with his friends in the playpen:

I then took out the cradle "mattress" and added a bag of chocolate treats. You can cover a Hershey nugget with a 1" by 3" piece of patterned paper to match your project. The treat bag fits nicely in the miniature cradle.  This may be a better option for those stampers who loathe fussy-cutting:

And finally, the matching card:

I hope you enjoyed my projects - I would love to hear from you. The pattern for the cradle will be available on Liz' website. She's out of the country at the moment celebrating her birthday, so Happy Birthday Liz!  Now it's time to go see what awesome creation she has made for us! Click the link below:

I fell in love with the "Nailed It" stamp set. After all, these tools have been lying around my house for a few years (total remodel in process). At any rate, this stamp set and framelits dies bundle is awesome. The new Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder really rounds out the suite..
