CREATIVE CIRCLE DESIGN TEAM - Christmas Quilting

Welcome to the Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop!  This month, Liz Holloway created an amazing 3D Piano for us to cut and design a project. Only I turned my piano into a Quilt Fabric Shop! This 3D even has a card storage compartment.

I love to quilt. Going to Paducah's (Kentucky) Quilt Show ever year is so inspiring for me. My Quilt Show buddy visited during the eclipse weekend and we went fabric shopping in Paducah. Seeing all those luscious Christmas quilting fabrics inspired me to turn my piano into a shelving unit in a Quilt Shop.

The Stampin Up! Holiday Catalog has the absolute cutest quilt set. It's called "Christmas Quilt". It comes in a bundle with Framelits Dies called "Quilt Builder". Aren't the thread spools cute? One has White Baker's Twine, one is the "Quilted Christmas 1/4" ribbon, and the other has the "3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon" in Garden Green.  Here's a close-up of the shelves:

The Designer Series Papers that coordinate with this set are beautiful.

The embroidered star in the "Stitched Felt Embellishments", along with the die cut needle, was added for a touch of something different. I backed it with a Garden Green "Stitched Shapes Framelit".

Here are the matching cards:

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut squares from the Designer papers. Then I fussy-cut some of the designs and raised them with dimensionals (pop dots). I used the "Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon" underneath the sentiment.

There are times when a complicated 3D needs a simple card. This is one of those times. I wanted to showcase the "Stitched Felt Embellishments", so I left the background simple. It's embossed with the "Softly Falling" textured impressions embossing folder. The circles are from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Circle Framelits. The bow is made from white baker's twine and I used the same coordinating ribbon.

Since I have two quilter friends, I made another one using a different paper from the "Quilted Christmas" Designer Series Papers. Now I'm off to make a quilt!

I hope you enjoyed my project and thank you for stopping by. I would love to hear from you.

Now please follow the blog hop below. Our team's designers are fabulous, starting with the wonderful creation Liz Holloway has made for us.

Happy Stamping!

  12. I love your Quilt Shoppe! I thought at first perhaps we could only get access to her tutorial if we lived in Canada, but I found a link to purchase it here: https://stampersplus.selz.com/item/59b472e26edca010143dd8e9 I am a quilter, but I was going to pass on the quilt bundle from the seasonal catalog because I know SU will retire it, and its available from three other companies (almost identical dies) but after I saw your project, I had to buy the tutorial and at least buy the paper! So clever of you!
