CREATIVE CIRCLE DESIGN TEAM - Spring Bird House

Welcome to the April Creative Circle Design Team Blog Hop! This month Liz created the cutest bird house for us to decorate.

I chose the host set called "Feathery Friends" in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. I love the look of these birds. Remember back in the day when we used to do tole painting? Well, I loved it and these designs remind me of tole painting.

Here's a side view (above) and a front view (below). I used the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color the birds and flowers  (Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, and Old Olive). I stamped them on Whisper White paper with black Memento Ink and then fussy-cut them out. The clouds are die cut from the Up & Away Thinlits. The House is covered with Pool Party paper.

And for kicks, I added a little bird to sit on top of the house. The roof is embossed using the Petal Burst embossing folder.

And here's the surprise - the roof comes off to reveal a place to store some cards:

The card matches the Bird House - it is stamped and colored (and fussy-cut) using the same colors as used on the House. I used the Brick Wall embossing folder. The bird is sitting inside a circle and frame die cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. Here's a close-up:

Here's the complete project again:

I hope you enjoyed my project. Now let's go see what the rest of this fabulous team has for us. Just click on their names below and follow along with our hop.

Happy Stamping,

  3. Sandy I totally love your project. I had to go to the cattie and take a look at the Feathery Friends stamp set, I don't think I noticed it before you brought it to life. What fun! Thanks so much for always inspiring and sharing your wondeful talents.
